Mathis Saunier
My name is Mathis Saunier, I am a london-based composer and guitar teacher. I have been playing electric guitar since I was a young child and studied classical guitar at the Conservatoire of Geneva where I graduated with jury’s distinctions. I then graduated from Guildhall School Music & Drama with a degree in Composition. I am now a music teacher at Harris Academy Clapham where I teach classical guitar, electric guitar, music theory, and composition to students aged between 10 and 35.
My music has been performed by renowned musicians such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, and many others; and I play electric guitar in a rock band!
I have a true passion for teaching composition to students as I think pupils can develop true creativity and explore very different approaches to creative concepts. I also teach adults which offers us an opportunity to discuss their musical background and interest to develop their musical sensibility.
Thanks to my unusual multi-genres music background, these skills allow me to work with classically interested students as pop/rock young musicians!
