Sophie Sparrow

Hailing from New Zealand, Sophie Sparrow is a soprano and teacher based in London. Recently, she lived in Florence, Italy for a year as a Resident Artist with Mascarade Opera Foundation. While in London, Sophie was on the Royal Academy Opera Programme studying with Kate Paterson, Marcus van den Akker, and Jonathan Papp. She also holds a Master of Performance (Distinction) from the Guildhall School of Music Drama. Sophie worked for the 2022 Glyndebourne Opera Festival Chorus and as a cover. In New Zealand, she gained a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Otago.

Alongside performing, Sophie enjoys teaching new and experienced singers of all ages, to help them ignite their own voice and personality through music and singing.

When Sophie is not singing opera, she is passionate about the environment, yoga, travelling, the arts and culture, musical theatre, and producing events and concerts.
